Location
At the southerly point of the Amalfi Coast, 8km south of Palazzo Belmonte, lies the exclusive private reserve of Licosa, within the Cilento National Park.
Situation
Licosa is a jewel among the historic properties of the Belmonte princes. Here, south of the small fishing harbour of San Marco and close to the point named for the siren Leucosia, lie the ancient ruins of a Roman fort, a seaside castello and family chapel, and the uniquely private Villa Sirena.
The estate of Licosa extends over six kilometres, approached over land, from the gatehouse at Ogliastro. To the left flickers the sun on the sea through pine forests, while to the right are fields of vines, olives and carob trees which clothe the lower slopes of the hills.
While many guests prefer to enjoy the privacy and security of the estate surrounding Villa Sirena, several pretty small villages and Palazzo Belmonte itself are within easy reach. Castellabate is just 6km, Salerno is 80km, and Naples is 130km to the north.
